Coastal Regions

Bordered by the Atlantic and Mediterranean, Morocco’s coasts enjoy a mild, subtropical climate. Ocean breezes keep summers pleasant and winters gentle. Average summer temperatures: 18–28°C. Winters: ~12°C. Best for beach lovers and city explorers.

Inland Plateaus & Cities

Cities like Fez and Meknes experience a continental climate with more extreme temperatures. Summers can reach 35–39°C, while winters drop to 5–7°C at night. Expect vibrant city life and dramatic seasonal shifts.

Southern Lowlands

Marrakech and the south are known for hot, dry summers (often 38–40°C+) and mild, sunny winters. Occasional desert winds (sirocco/chergui) can push temps even higher. Winters are mild but can bring rain and cool nights.

Atlas Mountains
