Morocco Beach Holidays
Morocco's Atlantic coast — Essaouira's wind-sculpted ramparts, Agadir's 10km golden beach, Tangier's sea-view kasbah, and Dakhla's world-famous kite lagoon. Private coastal Morocco tours combined with medina culture and desert adventure.
Morocco's Coastal Destinations
Essaouira
Morocco's wind city — UNESCO-listed ramparts, blue fishing boats, Gnawa music, whitewashed medina. The world's premier windsurfing destination (and the windiest city in Africa). 3 hours from Marrakech. The perfect day trip or 2-night extension.
Agadir
Morocco's purpose-built resort city — 10km of sandy beach, warm year-round climate (300+ sun days), and the closest Atlantic coast beach to Marrakech (2.5 hours). Less culturally dense than northern Morocco but an excellent beach addition to a longer circuit.
Tangier
North Africa's gateway city — Atlantic meets Mediterranean at the Strait of Gibraltar. The kasbah medina has extraordinary sea views across to Spain (14km). The Grand Socco, the American Legation, and the Caves of Hercules are all within half a day. Cosmopolitan, literary (Bowles, Burroughs, Kerouac all lived here), genuinely fascinating.
Dakhla
Morocco's extreme sports paradise — a lagoon 40km long, completely flat water, permanent wind. World-famous for kite surfing, windsurfing, and stand-up paddle. 1,200km south of Agadir — remote, raw, and extraordinary. The least-visited major Moroccan destination; increasingly popular with adventure travelers.
Asilah
A whitewashed Atlantic town 40km south of Tangier — ramparts, murals covering every wall, a beach that stretches south for miles. The most beautiful small coastal town in Morocco. Quiet, unhurried, genuinely authentic. Easy day trip or overnight from Tangier.
Combined Coast + Desert
Morocco's greatest travel paradox — you can swim in the Atlantic in the morning and be in the Sahara desert the following evening (300km south of Agadir is the fringes of the Sahara). MSITravels combines coastal and desert experiences in single itineraries: Essaouira + Marrakech + Ait Benhaddou + Sahara camp + Fes.
Does Morocco have good beaches?
Yes. Morocco has 3,500km of coastline — Atlantic on the west, Mediterranean on the north. The Atlantic beaches (Essaouira, Agadir, Dakhla) are dramatic, wide, and reliably warm for most of the year. The Mediterranean coast (near Tetouan and Al Hoceima) is warmer in summer but busier. For a combined culture + beach Morocco holiday, the standard circuit is Marrakech → Essaouira → Agadir (or Tangier → Chefchaouen → Fes → Marrakech → Essaouira).
