The Route — Stage by Stage
Marrakech → Atlas Mountains
Day 1 departure south over Tizi n'Tichka or north via the Casablanca road. If taking the northern route, overnight in Casablanca or drive directly to Fes (8 hours).
Rabat or Meknes Stop
The northern route passes Casablanca, Rabat (Kasbah of Udayas, Hassan Tower), and Meknes (Bab Mansour, Volubilis Roman ruins nearby). Choose 1–2 stops depending on your pace.
Fes Imperial City
The essential overnight stop. Fes el-Bali medina — 9,000 streets, the tanneries, Al-Qarawiyyin University, Bou Inania Madrasa. Stay 1–2 nights in a Fes medina riad. The cultural peak of the circuit.
Cedar Forest & Azrou
